I just wanted to share this text of Langston Hughes, for those who did not come across it. I find it beautiful as it is describing how feelings might look like if they materialize in something we know. If we had more poets like LH, it would be much easier to learn how to understand the world of emotions
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
Like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
Like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
