Enhanced abilities in other areas?
22.01.2016 by DXSOk, do any of you notice or think you may have enhanced abilities in other areas? Kind of like..... a blind person's hearing often overcompensates and their hearing is sharper than the rest of us who aren't blind.
Well, supposedly we are "emotionally blind" to not only our own emotions but to others as well. Well, here is where I differ. I feel I have ENHANCED ability to see emotions and "stuff" in others. For example, I seem to have a heightened ability to ascertain that someone has "hidden agenda" or "alternate agenda." I call it, "convincing me it's a duck when my eyes are seeing a goose." Or, tathe Emperor's New Clothes thing. I'm the little kid that will point out that the emperor isn't wearing any clothes. Or, if someone takes an albino black bear (not sure one exists, but it's possible) and tries to pass it off as a Polar Bear, I would be the one who would point out that genetically it's a black bear, but it's albino.
Now, I cannot determine what someone's "alternate" agenda is, I can only determine that they have it. To the point where people really get annoyed when I "call them out on it."
Further, I seem to be able to split hairs worse than former President Bill Clinton. For example, if someone says "get me a blue one." I will "Split hairs" by saying, "Do you mean Light blue, navy blue or sky blue?" Other people think they are being specific by saying "blue" and I force them to see that they are not specific enough by asking what "shade."
Anyone else?
Honestly....

Honestly I am the exact same way except I keep it to myself because I'm more of an introverted person. I've always been able to kind of pick up on peoples vibes, motives, and stuff. Usually I can tell what type of person they are or if they're someone I should associate myself with. And like you said, I find that I'm pretty good at finding "what's wrong with the picture."
quantum leaps

Sometimes I feel like my brain makes leaps in logic that I can't explain. I start with problem/question and all the sudden I have the best possible solution/answer without anything in between. I cannot quantify or present analysis on how I came to the conclusion (which can get awkward,) and it makes me feel kinda... psychic. This probably has more to do with autism than alexithymia, now that I think about it.

I see many possible outcomes from many possible alternatives and can quickly dismiss them all in seconds to arrive at the best possible course of action... Sorry, this idea is new to me, so I haven't quite nailed down my thoughts on it. Its been pretty hard to describe thus far.
I know where you are going....

Fermi, I don't feel it the way you do, but I understand somewhat....... Many many many times I see more than one outcome where other people see only ONE outcome. For example, in another post, I explained about how someone wants a blue something, and I ask if it's sky blue, navy blue, light blue, etc. That's because the outcome will be different depending on what shade of blue it is, but the one who wants the blue thing only sees ONE shade of blue and gets frustrated because I am pressing for additional clarification when the one who wants it doesn't think additional clarification is needed........
